  • Lock them behind bars. All of them

A mother who let her child continuously play truant was jailed for 56 days. I have no doubt that this is a great use of our jail system, considering the number of dangerous criminals released early for lack of jail space.

I just wonder when was the last time anyone thought why we have jails at all, and who should be put there?

  • Inglonesia

Rail chiefs are in line for £600,000 bonuses, despite continuously deteriorating service. I am glad to see that the reward for failure tradition continues. I also applaud the sensitivity of our leaders to current market condition. After all, merely a year ago bonuses for failure were much much higher.

  • 15 years old prostitute

The life of a girl of 15 working as a prostitute was exposed when a suspicious teacher who searched her bag found condoms and the name card of her agency and alerted police.

Two legal issues are yet to be resolved before any act can take place:

    1. Should the crown sue the teacher for abusing her power and conducting an unauthorized search?
    2. Can help services ‘rescue’ the girl, as evidence was obtained illegally, and therefore, by law inadmissible.

  • Jade Goody

Who is she, and what has made her famous? Dying is the only doing I could find about her, but that alone doesn’t make most people famous

  • cats vs. kids: 1-0

A teenager who micro-waved a six-weeks-old kitten was banned from keeping animals for seven years. On the other hand, people who kill their kids (or other kids) cannot be banned from having new kids, and every call for introducing such measures always end up with strong objection from human right activists.

Protecting cats seems to be much higher on the agenda then protecting kids. Strange place this is.

  • Drug enlightened UK

A father of three, whose family had been suffering from heroin dealers, has been jailed for two months for grabbing dealer’s heroin stash and flushing it down the toilet.

How enlightened UK has become, as we seem to be entering a new human-right era, in which heroin dealers seek police help to protect their possessions. I wonder if next they will sue the police when it fails to protect them.

Coming soon: tax-payer's funds will be used to establish help-line for heroin dealers in financial distress.

  • Another English Mystery

Why do English houses have carpets in bathrooms and toilets?

  • sex at 12

Am I the only one who find it strange that three boys of 12, 16 and 14 quarrel over the fatherhood of a baby born to a 15 years old? They claim to have slept with her in her bed with the consent of her parents. I just can’t really imagine how it went:

“Yes dear, don’t you think he's a bit too old for you? Why don’t you bring someone a bit smaller next time, who can fit in your bed better. And also make sure you don’t use any of these contraceptive. I heard from the local priest that we must not corrupt your young minds lest it should put strange ideas in your little heads. Now that I think of it, I wonder what ideas he was talking about?”

  • UK has 50,000 gang members

As many as 50,000 are involved in gangs in the UK, a think-tank will warn this week. I wonder if this figure includes the political parties and the politicians

  • Modern Education

My daughter is learning Shakespeare. She has to answer questions about Romeo and Juliet. She can watch the movie, ask for help, or google for answers. She does not need to read.

Any good recommendation to Shakespeare Reader’s Digest?

  • Ice, snow and salt

Now after a week of ice on the roads, the councils have run out of grit and are resorting to table salt. All London residents are therefore asked to go out with their salt shakers and help overcome this national emergency.

‘If we all go to buy salt, not only will we resolve the ice on the road emergency, but also kick start our economy’, said an anonymous MP who was spotted taking his £200 salt shaker to the streets, ‘It’s all a matter of consumer confidence.’

I tried to follow his example and buy some salt. Unfortunately, I could not leave my driveway as the road is covered with slippery ice. I am trying cooking instead.

  • I have defaulted – well done post office

The post office – in which I have been a good customer for long time – has always provided me with the worst service of any other financial institution: internet and telephone banking have been substandard, the queues if I wanted to speak to a person have been long, the clerks uninformed of their services, and every simple things tends to take forever.

    And then it happens

Due to my travel schedule I missed a £12 payment. Normally such a small amount used to roll with some interest and fee into my next statement without any further ado, or at worst some polite reminder would be sent.

    Not any more

On the 4th day I have received a warning letter that according to Consumer Credit Act 1974 I have defaulted and have to immediately remedy the situation before any further legal action would take place.

4th day, can you believe it? At least it explains where they put their resources and why everything else takes so long. After all, they can’t even make a fund transfer in 4 days.

  • Rainbow Jack

    police gay flag

Now that the police has decided to fly the rainbow flag. The House of Lords’ committee for Moral Conduct and Political Correctness has agreed to spend some additional bailout money on selecting the new Rainbow Jack.

    This is my design
